Oysterjam goes live! Marianne Harris-Bridge’s Marketing and Business Development Consultancy website was launched last week.

Marianne is one of our most loyal clients. We have worked with Marianne during her time at the Institute of Management (as was), DeMontfort University, Leicester College and Exemplas, so we were delighted when Marianne asked us to design and build a website to promote her consultancy practice.

Marianne provides marketing, business development, sales and communications support to companies in need of a fresh approach to their business needs. So, freshness, as well as professionalism and sophistication were the qualities we wanted to encapsulate in the website.

The site includes testimonials – from an impressive number of people – and case studies to give the visitor a real sense of the services Marianne offers and her professional but friendly approach.

Marianne, said the following:
I have known Triad for many years and always trusted them to exceed expectations for all the marketing work they have undertake at several different organisations for whom I have worked.
This time around it’s more personal – it’s to sell me in my own sole trading capacity and therefore it has a lot of emotional baggage tied into it.
The results speak for themselves – I have had nothing but compliments on the style, clarity and user friendly nature of the site and would not hesitate in recommending Triad again – (of course accessing their service as part of a total marketing solution via Oysterjam!)

So, why not check it out at www.oysterjam.co.uk

Aswell as building a variety of intranet sites, we were given the chance to build this quarterly ebrochure with the first one going live on January 8th 2010 in time for the new Peugeot branding to be applied. The aim of this ebrochure was to replace there current printed one, so it would be far easier and faster to update when ever the client wants to without the cost of re-prints and not even having to wait for the next quarter to apply the amends.

So it’s now down to the sales teams around the country to keep themselves updated by simply clicking on their link from there monthly email updates. We look forward to seeing the clients feedback and hopefully it will take off and we’ll be looking at the 2nd quarter SOON!!!

Like the former Imass Design Solutions, the newly-formed division is a business unit of Infoterra Ltd, part of EADS Astrium.

Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce has appointed Triad a Chamber member company to redevelop its website.

Triad Design, which is based in Holdenby, Northampton, was selected for the job following an intensive tender process which saw 16 companies submit proposals. These 16 were then shortlisted to six firms, who were invited to come and present to a Chamber panel.

The mammoth project will see a whole new look for the Chamber website and include implementation of online booking and payment facilities, advertising opportunities, more interactive functionality for members, clearer navigation and much more. The new site is scheduled to go live in April 2010.

David Sandell, Managing Director of Triad Design, said of the appointment: “We are in no doubt of the importance of this project to the Chamber. What they have achieved in 2009 despite the very challenging conditions is very impressive. The website redevelopment is now key for the Chamber and its members in 2010 and beyond, who will want to maximise opportunities and meet new challenges. All at Triad are very excited about the prospect of working with the Chamber on this project.”

Tracey Branson, Head of Operations at the Chamber, will be managing the project. She said: “We are very excited to be planning this new website and look forward to working with David and his team at Triad. This job is very much in its infancy at the moment, but some of the ideas we have discussed will really make a difference to our members. They will be able to do a lot more through their own profile pages, interact with other members, keep up to date with business and local news, book onto events and training courses and much, much more. It is quite possible that businesses will want to join the Chamber just to have a profile page on the new site.”

In his book “The Garrick Club – A History”, Geoffrey Wansell begins his prologue:

“The Garrick Club is not haunted – at least not as far as anyone knows – but there are ghosts everywhere nonetheless.

The moment that you walk up the stone steps from the street and push open the first pair of double doors, the past seems to sweep over you like a giant breath exhaled by the old, dark, soft stucco-fronted building”

We hope our exciting new website for the world famous Garrick Club in London, which we’ve recently produced and launched, has captured some of this atmosphere.

Founded in 1831, its patrons have included such luminaries as Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud, Alec Guinness, Charles Dickens, J.M. Barrie, A.A. Milne, Elgar to name just a few!

The website design pays tribute to the character and tradition of the club whilst providing a complementary modern and easy-to-use interface for the site visitor.
Amongst its key features is the secure members’ area, which includes an ambitious members messaging system. Also popular are the online galleries that appear in the public and members areas.

The project turned into a true labour of love and we were privileged to see the fantastic collections of theatrical paintings, portraits and drawings and the theatrical library containing the rare manuscripts and documents, the valuable collection of play-texts and thousands of playbills and theatre programmes.
Many of these elements can be found whilst exploring the new website.

For more information please visit their website – www.garrickclub.co.uk

The news seems to be dominated by the doom and gloom of the downturn and recession, and few of us can be in any doubt that 2009 is going to be tough for many sectors of business. We must refocus our efforts and resources and adapt our business if we are to survive and thrive the downturn.

Having started our own business in a recession, we have experienced the difficult times and learnt how to trade our way out. You have two choices.

If you listen to some ‘experts’ they will tell you to batten down the hatches and sit out the storm.

Alternatively you can make the decision to improve your marketing and communications. A recession should be seen as a time of opportunity that will favour those who are courageous and adaptable and many believe the coming year will see the survival of the fittest.

We believe the best time to increase awareness of your products and services are when your competitors have gone quiet and are contemplating their navel. It makes it much easier to maintain and grow brand awareness. And doing this is not about having a large marketing budget.

The businesses that make a conscious decision to keep on communicating with their customers will benefit. Brands and businesses will be sustained by continued focus on customers and putting them at the centre. This is an opportunity to review and reinvent your brand, products and services. Look at brands that have disappeared and in many cases they have not embraced new ways of doing business and changing to meet the customers needs.

There will be a change in the customers attitudes and approach, whether business to business or business to consumer, with many tightening their belts and with value for money being a key theme for the year. Customers are nervous about commitment and will be more likely to trust those they know.

The Internet is changing the way we do business and the way we personally shop and buy things. The website has now become the most important marketing tool as a channel for information, communication, and distribution with our customers. It is also the most cost effective marketing medium that is dynamic, easily maintained and updated.

However, is your website working hard enough for you and giving you the maximum return for your marketing pound?

According to new research by the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), small firms that regularly use the internet to promote their business stand a much better chance of beating the economic downturn. In the organisation’s biennial survey of its 8,700 members, 43% of respondents saw turnover increase by one fifth after using their website to advertise their business. This not only applies to small businesses but all businesses. This is proven by the dramatically changing retail landscape.

A spokesman for the FSB urged more firms to recognise the benefits of going online and despite the onset of an economic downturn, all small firms should look to the internet to maximise their sales and increase efficiency.
Dr Gary Packham, Head of Enterprise at the University of Glamorgan, where the report was compiled, claimed the results ‘show the very clear link between new technologies and business growth.’

This is also the time to review the positioning and presentation of your brand and services to ensure that it is communicating with and meeting the changing needs of your customers and the market place. It is about making sure your brand is visible, communicating the key messages and raising awareness.

All of this sends out positive signals of a successful business instilling confidence and reliability with your customers.
Give us a call to find out more and discuss the opportunities for your business. It costs nothing to talk.
